It was midnight, my husband was out of town and I was lonely… I was looking back on old friends and family and thinking about how everyone leaves in the end. One way or another, the people that you think are in your life forever will go, just like a million people have before. Kind of depressing to think about, but it’s true! And it made for a fabulous song, with lots of sustained notes and builds and breaks. I must admit, this is my favorite song of mine. When I performed it for the first time in public, the crowd started cheering three or four times throughout it, and I was totally surprised. I guess it’s just a powerful song. And for as amazing as people have said it is to LISTEN to it, it feels even more incredible to be able to close my eyes and get lost in such a passionate number.
