Had a cool thing happen to me last night: David Chown and I got all the way to Gaylord for our gig at the Otsego Club when I realized I had FORGOTTEN TO BRING MY DRESS!!!! I had the shoes and fishnet stockings in my bag and that’s all. My dress was hanging, forgotten, in my vehicle in T.C. It was a fancy show so I couldn’t get away with the casual clothes I was wearing. After I got over the initial heart attack, I realized everything was going to be fine. I said a quick prayer “okay, God, help me out here please. You know what I need!” I didn’t feel one bit worried. I helped David unload the equipment from his van so he could set up, and then I jumped in the van and drove to the nearest department store to find a dress before the show started! (Thank you, Peter, at the Otsego Club, for suggesting the store and giving me directions!!!)
I had this strong feeling that I was going to find the perfect dress and as I walked into the store, I immediately saw it!! It was so cute and so “me”, even with my favorite color in it, a bright jewel-toned red. It was the perfect dress, the last one in my size and I fell in like with it. :0) I even had enough time to pick out some jewelry to match, drive back to my hotel room, pump milk (it was my first night away from Gideon!) touch-up my hair and makeup and even eat dinner before I went on!! It was rather MIRACULOUS given the extremely small amount of time I’d had to work with. (about an hour) The gig went flawlessly and I got about 20 compliments on my dress. Thanks, God, for the reminder that worrying is useless! :0)

Like my buddy Jesus says:
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[a]?
28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Matt 6:25-34
