Winner of Kawai’s National Competition, 2007!

Miriam won 1st place in the 2007 Kawai National “Searching For a Star” competition, in the Adult Vocal Performance category. Her entry was chosen out of thousands of entries from the U.S.A. and Canada. The song she recorded was Gershwin’s “Someone to Watch Over Me”, and it was recorded LIVE at Kurtz Music in Traverse City, Michigan. Miriam would like to thank Chris Selby from Kurtz Music who entered her into the competition and David Chown who played piano on the track. Pico and Chown have since recorded and released an album entitled “S’bout Time”. For more information and to hear tracks from the CD, visit the Pico & Chown section of this website.
